Ordinations of New Priests
Your prayers are requested for our new priests,
ordained this Saturday, June 28 at the Cathedral. May the Lord, our
good Shepherd, give them all the gifts, the encouragement, the
Spirit of joy and whatever they need to be shepherds in the image of
our Lord.
Rev. David G. Thurber, Jr.
Rev. Jeremy J. Rodrigues
Rev. Jaime A. Garcia
Rev. Lukasz J.
Willenberg
Rev. Jacek Ploch
We congratulate them and wish
them all God’s blessings!

St. Jude’s parish in Lincoln. Tickets @ $10 are available at the

Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. All are cordially invited.
4th of July
We wish everyone a Happy Independence Day holiday
this coming Friday. We certainly should give thanks to our God for
the freedoms we enjoy in our nation. We should also recommit
ourselves to responsible stewardship of the bountiful creation which
is our inheritance.
NOTE: Our parish office
is closed on the 4th and our Daily Mass is celebrated at
9 AM.
Graduating from College?
We want to acknowledge those from our parish who
have completed their advanced studies at institutions of higher
learning. We will publish their names in late June to honor this
accomplishment. Send us their names, their degree and the
institution awarding the degree. Drop us a note or e-mail the parish
(see front cover of the
bulletin). Thanks a lot.
A Note about Celiac Disease
Celiac Disease affects as many as one out of 133
people. Those suffering from this condition cannot digest any
gluten, a protein found in wheat. Thus they refrain from receiving
the sacred Eucharist to do so; and they suffer from effects of the
gluten as well as suffering spiritually. Here at OLQM communion is
offered under both species: the host as well as the sacred cup of
the Blood of Christ. Those with celiac allergy can simply receive
from the cup alone since Christ is received completely under either
and both kinds.
